An Interview with Threads by Ruby
How do you come up with new ideas or collections?
I love following international designers and architects. Their creativity sparks new ideas for me—whether it’s a shape, texture, or color palette. I take what speaks to me and reimagine it in my own style to create unique, fun collections.
What makes your brand unique?
I work with local small businesses, and for my summer collection, I collaborated with a local vocational school and center for people with disabilities and special needs.
Where do you usually draw inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from everywhere—Pinterest, art, movies, and especially local designers and artisans from around the world. I love how each culture brings its own colors, textures, and stories, and I weave those into the spirit of Threads by Ruby.
What part of your process do you love the most?
The part I love most is sourcing and selecting textiles. There’s something magical about discovering a fabric, envisioning the story it could tell, and then watching it transform into a finished piece. That moment when an idea becomes wearable art is truly my favorite.
How long does it take to receive an order?
It takes around 10 days give or take.
