An Interview with Tete Bebé Atelier
How did your journey in fashion or design begin?
We are both mothers, and as our own little ones grew, we realized we were sharing the same passion. We loved the idea of classic, European children’s clothing, but we were constantly disappointed by the lack of true quality, comfort, and durability in mass-market options.
So, what began as shared frustrations over coffee quickly evolved into a joint mission. We pooled our complementary talents and committed to creating a brand defined by Spanish fashion. Tete Bebé Atelier became our shared passion project, a way to create the heirloom pieces we always wanted for our own children.
How would you describe your brand in three words?
Timeless, Handcrafted, Joyful.
What part of the process do you enjoy the most?
It is undoubtedly the initial, tactile phase: the selection of the perfect fabric. Walking through the Spanish markets and feeling the softness of a new batch of European linen or a fine organic cotton muslin is magical. That moment, when you know exactly how the material will drape, breathe, and feel against a baby's skin, is when the dream of the final garment truly begins to take shape. It’s where artistry meets utility.
What legacy do you hope to leave in the world of kids’ fashion?
We want Tete Bebé Atelier to encourage parents to invest in fewer, better, more sustainable pieces that carry emotional value, rather than supporting disposable trends. Our goal is to be synonymous with the idea that children's clothing can be both ethical and exquisitely designed, proving that the highest quality is the most sustainable choice in the long run.
What’s one customer story or message that meant a lot to you?
One recent message truly affirmed our mission. A customer sent us a picture of her newborn wearing one of our classics. That is the highest compliment we could ever receive. It validated our entire philosophy: that our garments are timeless enough to withstand generations of play and hold precious family memories.
